Outcast III expands the concept into a diptych, allowing the tension between belonging and departure to unfold across two canvases. Set against a monochromatic red field, the circular formation of butterflies is split—half contained on one panel, half on the other.
On one canvas, butterflies enter the orbit from the lower corner, suggesting approach, or return. On the opposite canvas, butterflies escape the circle from the upper corner, moving outward and upward. Together, the panels hold opposing yet simultaneous states: arrival and release, connection and divergence.
Rather than resolving the conflict, the diptych preserves it—presenting the outcast not as a fixed role, but as a condition that shifts between inclusion and independence.
