Resin and acrylic on canvas
120 x 150 cm
Part of the Rising Souls series, Flying Blues explores the tension between the spaces that hold us and the desire to move beyond them. Set against an expansive blue background, black resin butterflies create a striking contrast, bringing depth and movement to the canvas. The composition can be displayed both horizontally and vertically, offering two distinct perspectives on the butterflies’ flight.
Four large sculptural butterflies rise from the surface and extend beyond the canvas boundaries, transforming the painting into a space that reaches beyond itself. For me, this gesture represents the moments when we outgrow what once contained us and begin to move toward something unknown. Flying Blues is about the courage to break free, embrace change, and trust the direction in which life carries us.
